Third Teaching Practice Reflection

First, I taught the third sciences lesson 4 seasons, for grade 1-C ( Female of 6 years old and they are 25 students ) on Thursday 20th, November, 2014, and all my activities about 4 seasons. I prepared all the activities so for each table group I put one season also when I finish I will test them about the seasons what they knew and learn about it.

Second, I took attendance after that I told them to come to the carpet and sit nicely. I taught them about 4 seasons and I asked them some questions and I show them PPT about 4 seasons and I told them the names of the 4 seasons, I engaged them by  act and they acted with me also I asked them what they wear in every season? Then I told them to go around the tables (seasons) to found out what happened for every seasons.

Third, they started discover and played but when I said tidy up they didn't listen to me I counted and I said again tidy up again nobody listened so I had to stop the lesson and I said to them " stop everything you did and stay away from the tables " this is the problem I found with 1-C. So I did some exercises to make them listen and focus. I said " if I told you tidy up listen and do it, you must listen to what I said or l will not let you play with the games that I bought for you " you will not believe it's worked and they continue discovering the seasons and I come around and I asked them what the name of the season? What happened in the season?....etc.

Finally, I took more than 45 minutes and I started panic so I told the students to come to the carpet to do some test and I want to know what they learn about 4 seasons? I gave them worksheets and I explained what they will do ? but after one minute they kept saying they don't know how to wrote or how to do the test so I have plan B and I asked them a lot of questions about the lesson and they told me by saying the words and act. However, the lesson getting will and I'm happy to do it

The positive aspects, I made appropriate activities for LAPs, MAPs and HAPs. My  presentation was very good and all students answered all my questions and I notes that they love the activities  especially when they made a garden and snowman also when I used the hair dryer on them. This is the last day to me at school and thank God I didn't cry because I used to be with the children and I knew myself I will miss them a lot.

Second Teaching Practice Reflection

First, I taught the second Math lesson Counting Numbers  1- 60, for grade 1-C ( Female of 6 years old and they are 25 students ) on Monday 17th, November, 2014, and all my activities about counting numbers  but each group did different activity for example: the first blue group (LAPS) they counted the numbers from 1-20 and found the missing numbers ( cut and paste ). The second green group (MAPs) they counted from 1-50 and wrote the missing numbers. The third red group (HAPs) they found the numbers and circled it.

Second, I started by asking each group to come to the carpet and I remand them about the carpet rules, and together we counted the numbers from 0 to 10 and I used my fingers to count then I asked them one by one what after and before the numbers. I used flash cards to ask them what this number? And they were very fast to answering me. Then I gave them the activities and I explain what they will do but a girl interrupted me so I explain the activities again.

Third, the lesson was good in the beginning but when they did the activities they kept asking me what I put here? I helped them in the beginning but I notes that they didn't want do the activities they want me to solve for them and do all the activities for them. Also I have a girl called Reem she's new in the school and she needs a lot of help so I sat with her in the carpet and I asked her what after number 40 and she didn't know and all the girls started come to me to show me that they are finished their activities but Reem kept asked me "Ms. Mariam, Ms. Mariam help me help me" the girls started move around me even I said to them "be quiet and sit down to your seat" but nobody listen  to me I kept asking them to sit down but nothing so I said " one two three eyes on me " to make them quite until I finished with Reem. After that I said to them tidy up many time but they didn't listen to me so I don't know what happened with 1-C I knew them very will they love me and listen to me all the time but today I didn't understand what's wrong with them.

Finally, to be honest, the lesson was disaster and it's took more than 45 minutes maybe 1 hour and half an hour. I felt like disappointed because my lesson is not like my expectation.

The positive aspects, I made appropriate activity for LAPs, MAPs and HAPs also for SEN girls. My  presentation was good especially when I practice with 1-D so I thought that it will work with 1-C but 1-D were match better than 1-C. I wish that I have 1-D for my lesson.
